Frequently asked questions
Is B1 required for Estonian citizenship?
The language requirement for citizenship is B1 level, verified through the official exam process, plus other legal conditions. Confirm current rules on official state sites before you apply.
Should I finish A2 before B1?
Usually yes. If A2 conversations still feel fragile, complete A2 first. A B1 Pass unlocks B1 plus A2 and A1, so earlier gaps stay available to review.
How long is the B1 course?
The B1 band is about 40+ study hours. With lower levels unlocked by the B1 Pass, plan on roughly 140+ hours if you work the full ladder content.
How do I register for the B1 exam?
Use the official HARNO / state exam registration service for dates, venues, and fees. A2est prepares your skills; it does not register you for the exam.
What topics does B1 cover?
Work and career, civic life, social issues, environment, and exam-style listening, reading, writing, and speaking modules drawn from the B1 syllabus.
Is there a free way to start?
Yes. Take a free lesson or the placement check, then choose the B1 Pass when B1 is the right target.
